See if you’re eligible for a Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK)
What is a MLAK?
The Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) is a key that opens specially-designed locks, giving people with disabilities 24-hour access to public facilities.
Introduced and implemented by the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia, the program is supported by and run in conjunction with local councils, municipalities and facility managers.
Where are MLAK facilities located?
There are MLAK facilities all over Australia. You can download a complete list from Spinal Cord Injuries Australia.
Why do we need the MLAK initiative?
Most public facilities need to be locked after hours to prevent damage, vandalism and to maintain safety. The MLAK initiative means people with disabilities can access the facilities which have been designed especially with them in mind, any time and without difficulty.
